Mission Scroll:Aroma country is relatively safe, but not entirely free from Bandit activity, and there is unfortunately no better time for bandits to be active than when refugees are carrying all their worldly possessions, and haughty grand villages are sending cartfulls of goods for 'support.' Good luck!In coordination with samurai from the Iron and Heart nations, Konoha and Kumo are sending limited support to the refugee efforts made necessary by the war. An official request has been made for a handful of builders to be escorted and protected by a pair of ninja to Aroma Country, and while they set up. Aroma Country has stated that while they are unable to provide refugee support outright, they are allowing us to set up stations for aid and care for those that need to pass through on their way to Steam Country. This is to include refugees both from the area surrounding Iwagakure from the north, as well as those fleeing Wind Country from the west. The builders will take a couple of days to properly set up the checkpoint, and carts will be arriving over the course of those days carrying supplies to build the checkpoint as well as to stock it with medical and food supplies. Please offer them protection and assistance in any way you can.

Beeko was starting to get used to this whole mission thing. He thought back on his very first mission- he and his friend Suzy had to deliver a small box containing [REDACTED] to a small village, when they were attacked by a strange kid who both had a head shaped like, and the odorous stench of, a giant rotten egg. That felt so long ago, now, that he could barely even remember what the conclusion of that mission was...
This time, Beeko was being paired with a Kumogakure shinobi. And instead of delivering some measly little box, this time he would be doing something that would actually help people- escorting some builders to Aroma country so that they could build shelters for refugees. This was the sort of thing that his mother had had in mind for him when she sent him off to Konoha to enroll in the shinobi academy. This was his first serious assignment and he wasn't about to let these people down.
Beeko arrived at the rendezvous point and looked around for a shinobi with Kumogakure headband, or really, anyone who looked to have any kind of authority, as Beeko wasn't really sure who he was meant to report to.

[Invasion] It's Raining Refugees!
FINALLY AN ACTUAL MISSION. Akihiko had been to a frozen tundra, taken a taste of combat at the chuunin exams, but really he hadn't been on an actual mission interacting with others his age where he had responsibility. Just the thought of being more responsible made him and his genma, Ryeunso sick. The days of running around annoying literally everyone was over... but was it actually though? The child just had to be more creative.
Since this was an actual mission, the boy didn't want to waste chakra on scaring his new teammate. Akihiko excitedly made his way at the meeting point. Apparently he was going to be teamed up with a Konoha ninja. Truth be told, Aki wasn't used to teaming up with other ninja close to his age. At the very least most of his friendly interactions were with Samurai or old farts that claimed they were powerful.
When the child arrived he saw a child close to his age wearing some kind of green shirt and dark pants. The pink haired delinquent had both of his hands resting on the back of his head as if he was laying on his back. What kind of introduction would be an appropriate one? No thought came to his mind and his mouth spoke in a way that reflected his childish 2 brain celled thoughts "I see you really went for the earthy theme today." At this point, Aki was wearing the full Kumo chuunin attire. Blue shirt/pants combo with white ankle guards and a white Kumo vest. His headband was also white and went underneath his hair so you could mostly see the symbol. "My name is Akihiko, you can call me Aki."

[Invasion] It's Raining Refugees!
As he was looking around for who to report to, Beeko was approached by a young Kumogakure shinobi- he was surprised that he hadn't noticed the kid before, considering his bright pink pair and Kumogakure Hitai-ate. Didn't exactly make him feel like he was at the top of his game today, which wasn't a great feeling going into a mission. He was really gonna need to be more alert moving forward. While he didn't care that much about (and often delighted in) annoying the Senju elders, he didn't want to let Konoha down. And these people needed his help! So he couldn't be letting slip such obvious things like not seeing a Hitai-ate. Ugh.
Anyways, the kid introduced himself as Aki and made a comment about his earth toned attire, which Beeko thought was pretty cool because that's exactly what he had been going for and this was literally the first time that anyone ever made a comment about it so that made him feel pretty cool. Speaking of feeling cool and looking cool, Beeko realized that maybe he should add a pair of sunglasses to his wardrobe. He made a mental note to look into that later. "Hey, thanks! That's exactly what was going for!" Beeko flashed a big, cheesy smile. "My name's Beeko. I like your hair, reminds me of sakura trees!" He stuck his fist out to offer a bump and flashed another big, cheesy smile.

"I guess both of our themes are trees! haha" Aki laughed as he moved his right hand forward to fist bump with this tree dressed kid. While his hand was moving, within the confines of his mind, Ryeunso had a few thoughts on the situation. "This boy is easily gullible, you would be a fool not to make him suffer!" With the collision of their fisting, the child smiled back in a cheesy smile too. Maybe these two were more similar than Aki could know, or maybe they are just two slightly dense children figuring out their place in a world full of edgy ninja.
Once Aki pulled his fist back, the followed up looking at Beeko by looking at their surroundings. "Ugh it seems as though the builders are a little late. I hope this mission didn't fail before it started."
In a weird coincidence, the builders were able to be seen from a far distance. Eight builders took their sweet ass time as they walked up to the two shinobi. All very muscular men towered over the wizard children as they laughed upon seeing them. One even made a comment "Children is who they sent to help us?" Akihiko took a slight to this. Yes he was a child and yes Beeko was a child, but both of them were products of borderline child abuse worth's of training in order to perform godly forms of combat upon their potential foes. So Aki responded the best way he could. "Well meathead, my name is Akihiko, you can call me Sir since I will be your first line of defense if something goes wrong." The child would then point over to his friend Beeko, so he could introduce himself as well.
After Beeko says his piece, Aki would then motion to them in a sarcastic manor as if he was doing a curtsy while showing the direction they should be going. "Now gentlemen, why don't you lead the way and we will follow." The group would laugh and turn towards the direction they were suppose to go, leading the way for the two village shinobi.
While they were walking, Aki would walk over to Beeko slowly and give him a pat on the back. "We got this!" he would say softly. After giving Beeko a pat on the back, he would wait a couple seconds for Beeko to ask any questions or confirm what he was said. After their conversation, he would walk up to the workers and shout "Alright boys, in order to ensure your safety I have to give you guys a pat on the back!" The men would just grunt, with one saying "Sure kid just do it and get on with it." Aki borderline ignored him as he tagged all of the men on the back. After doing that, the child would walk back to Beeko's side and survey they area.

[Invasion] It's Raining Refugees!
Beeko was quite starting to like this Aki kid, a real refreshing personality after the past few years surrounded by grumpy old Senju elders. Sometimes it made Beeko feel insane, being surrounded by so many "serious and respected members of the Senju clan, our roots (said without a HINT of humor!) trace back all the way to the founding of Konoha. Without us, there would be no village. Your name signifies a status that very few in the history of the world have ever known, it's about time that you-" Beeko was jarred from his inner ramblings when he heard the builder rudely refer to him and his new friend Aki as "kids."
Beeko did NOT take kindly to being referred to as a kid in such a demeaning way. It's like...well he was a kid, y'know...they weren't WRONG. But they were being jerks about it, and after they had come all the way here? From two different countries? Just to help him? The nerve! The genin felt his skin getting hot with anger, as his eyes narrowed and face contorted into a grimace at the man's disrespectful remarks. Had this man ever MET a shinobi? Did he not know that they start training incredibly young? More importantly, did this man not know it was their JOB to beat people up? With ninjutsu? This guy was lucky that Beeko actually took his missions seriously and wouldn't risk dishonoring the village for the sake of passing out some karma. He always looked forward to spending time outside the village because he usually found the people to be less self-important. But this guy? Jeez. At least the old Senju farts got their self-importance from inflating their own egos instead of being mean to other people.
After his new friend gave his introduction, Beeko followed with a terse "The name's Beeko, old man." The builder didn't even bother giving his own name. What a rude ass.
Aki patting him on the back was enough to jar him from his grumpy mood. Sure, the old man was definitely going to be a pain... but he'd already met a cool kid from the Kumo! And he was here to help people who really needed it. And then Aki proceeded to pat the builders on the back, all of them, which Beeko found to be slightly odd. As Aki made his way from man to man, it occurred to Beeko that he was probably performing some kind of jutsu that would aid in their mission. Beeko's guess was some kind of tracking jutsu, in case they were to be separated. But whatever it was, Beeko was positive that Aki was on his side and that whatever he had just done would be for the benefit of himself and the mission.

Yuck old serious guys. Sure they had muscles, good looks, and tough exteriors.... but what Aki knew about men, was that they had soft interiors. So comments and actions made by those older than him, were easy for the lad to brush off. Unbeknownst to the pink brat, the two boys were actually very similar. They were a part of a highly regarded Clan within their village and seemed to be black sheep in the eyes of the elders. Aki literally dyed his hair pink to show he was different than the stuck up black haired family members. Maybe Aki would be able to invite Beeko with his other friends to his coming of age party if they hit it off.
At this point in Aki's life, he had learned a great deal about awareness. So as the child walked with Beeko, although he seemed casual and lackadaisical, the boy was actively keeping tabs of his surroundings. The idea was to keep the mission a little bit lighter. It would be a bad look if both of them had kunai out and scrunched their faces looking around. I mean, they would get wrinkles before they fully grew!
When they got near their destination, Aki would look over at Beeko and try to stir up some conversation. "So Beeko, what do you specialize in? Have any cool techniques?"
The child would listen as the boy responded. Once that conversation hit it's end, he would continue with more questions! "What is Konohagakure like? I haven't been yet, but I plan on visiting sometime soon. OO WAIT What's your favorite dessert and snack?!?!?"
Once again the two would converse and Aki would answer any questions that Beeko would have for him.
After a little bit of going back and forth, the group would arrive at the destination. There was already a camp sitting there waiting for the engineers. They had made their first delivery of materials. So the two just had the task of being diligent.
The men walked over and got to work right away. While they did that Aki looked around the area to find a viewing point. "Hey Beeko, want to check out that hill over there?" Other than trees, train tracks, and some open areas... there wasn't much around. It would be a great spot to welcome refugees based on the roads that lead to it as well. Aki, however, pointed to a hill that was high enough to overlook the progress of the engineers and potentially see anyone walking into the area. Maybe it would be a good spot to go?

Beeko's mood shifted quickly and completely when his new companion asked him if he had any special techniques, all conscious thoughts of the rude builders fell away beneath the excitement of showing off his prize golem, Arimaki. Without so much as a minor hiccup in his stride, Beeko channeled chakra into one of the seeds stored in the bottom of his wooden foot, causing Arimaki to spawn below him, walking forward at the exact same pace that he had previously walking. This smooth transition from walking to riding the golem was a move that he had practiced a thousand times (much to the frustration of his elders, of course, who would have preferred that he spend that time learning traditional Senju techniques), but Aki didn't need to know that part. Beeko had put a lot of work into looking effortlessly cool, and he was thrilled that his work was finally paying off.
Beeko stood with his arms out stretched in a proud tada! stance, feeling very sure that his new friend would be quite impressed with his golem. "Yeah! I can make this guy!" He paused momentarily to allow Aki to take in the splendor of his giant wooden spider. Oh, and my arm and leg are made out of wood, which is also pretty cool, I think. What's your thing?"
The genin had barely answered he first question before Aki had asked another. "Eh, Konoha is fine, I guess. Lots of old people telling me what to do and making me do stuff. I wasn't actually born there, they let me move there because my dad was a Senju. I don't really have a favorite snack...anything from home, I guess. My mom sends me stuff sometimes."
Beeko nodded in agreement at Aki's request to go to the hill. "How do you like Kumo? Do you get to leave often? I've only left Konoha a few times since I moved there."

[Invasion] It's Raining Refugees!
With slight cloud coverage and a beautiful day, Aki was appreciative of these kind of days. Especially talking with a like minded individual like Beeko. The child excitedly watched the child as he explained his techniques and even his bodily changes. This made the pink hair boy wonder what other parts of him were wood. Also, what kind of wood? Before the child could get dirty in thoughts, he watched as the Konoha boy dropped a seed in the ground. Before Aki could blink twice, a golem will arrive in the form of a spider. OMG A WOODEN SPIDER? YOU DIDN'T THINK ABOUT THE SPLINTERS??
The boy listened and eventually chimed in. "I am still trying to figure it out, it wasn't until recently I realized I don't have any techniques that actually can cause harm directly... I was told by my teacher Yeechee, that I have an affinity for raiton. So Maybe that is where I will lean towards? As for my specialty? It is already happening Beeko! You can't see it?!" The child would point down towards the construction workers. Near them was an invisible silhouette of Aki... Unless Beeko had a sensory based ability, he probably wouldn't have seen it.
Through there conversations, Aki had his brain working on all cylinders. It seemed to the boy, who was part of a prestigious clan, that Beeko was part of one too. He used the Word Senju and his wood techniques almost like they were linked together. Maybe they had more in common that Aki could have even predicted!
After trying to show Beeko his technique, what truly fascinated him was the general response about Konoha. It seemed that both Kumo and Konoha had a similar hierarchy and Both Beeko and Aki were not ones that really fit into the mold. "I love Kumo as a place! But just like you I am not a big fan of all of the crusty shinobi trying to dictate my life." The child would turn his attention to the workers doing their thing before he continued. "I would like to spend more time in Kumo, but now that I am getting a bit stronger, I am finding myself spending time away from Kumo. I'm here for a while to help out and then after this I am being shipped off to a mission that will have me be gone for years." The child would turn back to Beeko in distress "WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITHOUT KETTLE CORN", he would turn to the sky "OH THE HUMANITY!" Aki shouted with his pink hair bobbing. Almost like an actor, Aki went from distressed to happy. It almost seemed like he was insane, but for the most part it was his personality. He rarely left room in his mind, body, and soul for negativity. "Well Beeko we will have to visit each other after this. Maybe we could also meet at the Heart Empire, I have some friends there I would love you to meet!"
Joking aside, the child would gaze upon the workers. Something didn't look fully right, but the brat couldn't put a finger on it. "Hmm Beeko, did you notice how they are building? It looks like there are a couple rookies they paired up with experienced folk." Now that statement alone wasn't what caused suspicion. What was odd to Aki is that the group was split up into 3 groups. 1 Group of semi experienced workers and then 2 groups of half veterans with half rookies. It seemed based on the interactions and physical/verbal frustration that two of the rookies had no idea what they were doing. Meh maybe it could be nothing.
The boy listened and eventually chimed in. "I am still trying to figure it out, it wasn't until recently I realized I don't have any techniques that actually can cause harm directly... The child would point down towards the construction workers.
